Wall Sanding Guidelines

Step 1

In order to get an even surface, apply a layer of plaster over holes, joints and other rough areas. Reinforce joints with a joint tape. (To find a suitable plaster and joint tape, please contact your local dealer).

Step 2

Sand the surface until you get an even and smooth surface. Use Abranet grit 120 stripes on your hand sanding block/Decosander. If necessary apply a second layer of plaster and sand again to get an even surface.

Step 3

Paint the surface before applying the final colour or wallpaper. (To find a suitable paint, please contact your local dealer).

Repainting old furniture

Step 1

Remove stains and dirt by sanding with Mirlon Total VF. Rug up the whole surface so that the paint will attach. For good grip and comfort, fold the Mirlon sheet.

Step 2

Paint the furniture using a paint brush or a paint sprayer. (Contact your local dealer for suitable paint and equipment).

Step 3

When the first paint layer is applied and dry, inspect the surface to see whether it is even or if a second layer is needed to achieve the appropriate colour. If the surface is not even, make a light sanding before the second paint layer is applied.

Note: For best result it is preferable to put two thin layers instead of a thick one.

Renovating benchtops

Step 1

Before oiling the surface, it is important that all dirt and roughnesses are removed and that the surface is rugged up. This can easily be done by sanding the benchtop with Mirlon Total Vf.

Step 2

Apply a thick layer of oil, intended for benchtops. Let it rest for about 20 minutes. (To find a suitable oil, please contact your local dealer).

Step 3

Remove excessive oil with a rug. If needed, repeat step 2 and 3. In order to get a durable benchtop surface, it is vital that it is thoroughly impregnated with oil.

The dust-free alternative

If you want a totally dustfree sanding solution, it is possible to use Abranet sanding material, grit 240, attached to a hand sanding block. The sanding block is connected to a vacuum cleaner.

Car Polishing

Step 1

Start by applying an adequate amount of Polarshine T10 polishing compound on a natural lamb's wool pad.

Step 2

Polish the surface until all scratches and visible wash marks are removed and a glossy surface is achieved. Polish with 1400 rpm. Wipe the surface with a micro fiber cloth.

Step 3

Continue polishing by using a soft black (dotted) foam pad. Use it together with Polarshine T10 polishing compound. Polish until a high gloss is achieved. Polish with approximately 1400 rpm. Wipe the surface with a micro fiber cloth.

Step 4

Seal the polished surface with Polarshine UF3 car wax. The wax can either be applied by hand with a micro fiber cloth or with a polisher together with a black (dotted) foam pad.

Wood Polishing

Step 1

Start by polishing the surface with an Abralon P2000 disc. Spray water on the disc and keep it damp during the working phase. Use the machine's own weight when polishing, no additional pressure is needed. Continue until a dull and even surface is achieved.

Step 2

Continue polishing using an Abralon P4000 disc. Use the disc damp. Polish until an even shine is achieved. Wipe the surface with a micro fiber cloth.

Step 3

Continue by applying Polarshine T10 polishing compound on a natural lamb's wool pad and polish with approximately 1400 rpm. Continue until a high gloss is achieved. Wipe the surface with a micro fiber cloth.
