The Mirka development team has done it again. Years of development work and a determined focus on user-friendliness have resulted in the lightest electric wall sander on the market, Mirka® LEROS. This unique tool will be launched to the global market in spring 2018.

However, we are now happy to announce that Mirka LEROS has been nominated to the 2017 Innovation Awards’ worksite equipment and tool category. The Innovation Awards highlight major trends that are revolutionising the industry and is a major event at the global building and construction fair Batimat. The winners of the competition will be announced during the Awards Ceremony on Monday the 18th of September.

According to the Innovation Awards’ expert jury, there are some clear trends in the worksite equipment and tool category. Technological integration is enabling improved performance and safety, making the tools more user-friendly and easier to handle. In addition, the user-centric design has been in focus and many of the nominated tools are designed for work at height, without requiring the operator to leave the ground.

Mirka LEROS represents many of these trends, making a hard and heavy work light and easy. This long electric random orbital sander weighs less than 3.5 kg, features a brushless motor and has a 180° flexible sanding head. Hence, you can reach the surface from better angles and obtain a smoother finish while less stress is put on your body. Furthermore, Mirka LEROS enables dust-free sanding when used with Mirka’s net abrasives and dust extractors.

We are very honored of the Innovation Awards nomination and excited to tell more about our new up-coming power tool. We will be doing live demonstrations with the tool at the Batimat fair which takes place 6th to 10th November in Paris, France. So, stay tuned for more information in the near future and visit us at our stand Y63 in hall 5B at Batimat.
