Sector Technician

The Sector Technician supports efforts in their assigned sector by focusing at the end-user/customer level providing sales, sales development, and technical expertise on products, applications, and industry processes to complement the sales efforts by the Business Sector Manager and Key Account Managers.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Conduct localized service calls at end-user's location
  • Understand a customer’s manufacturing processes and advising on processes, troubleshooting issues and resolving quality issues
  • Identify deviating processes with the customers and take corrective action using established channels
  • Provide on-site training and demonstrations for end-user/customer on products and processes
  • Lead promotions/promotional sales activity at the end user level
  • Conduct Customer surveys and act as a liaison for testing
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and post job completion follow up
  • Document complaints
  • Provide tech reporting and support requests
  • Serve as a training/resource during the new hire onboarding and training process
  • Conduct internal training as needed
  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and clear documentation




  • 5+ years of direct abrasives industry experience related to abrasives and/or abrasive usage
  • Process and application knowledge across all industry sectors served
  • Experience and understanding of industry standards
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Basic proficiency in computer, presentation, and business media
  • Basic proficiency in hands-on testing and demonstrations (application & product)
  • Experience in development and conducting training of others
  • Knowledge of industry equipment and testing procedures
  • Valid driver’s license
