Abranet® HCX – Speed and Control for Hard Surfaces

The Abranet range is expanding with Abranet HCX, developed for sanding hard surfaces and composites, like hardcoat, gelcoat and epoxy. This net abrasive retains everything that made the previous Abranet versions so appreciated for marine applications but adds more control over the sanding process.
Speed and control are two of the most sought-after features in modern composite boats. Coincidentally, they are also two of the most important aspects of marine and composite surface preparation. In surface treatment, speed is not determined by individual steps, but by how quickly the entire process is carried out.
When sanding composite surfaces, the goal is seldom to remove as much material as possible, but rather to achieve as smooth a surface as possible with minimal, controlled effort. Abranet HCX enables this through a complete sanding system in which the coarser grit sizes, 80 to 180, provide fast material removal, while the finer grits, 240 to 400, deliver control and an excellent scratch pattern.
The new net abrasive offers significant advantages for industrial manufacturers of boats, aircraft, trains, and others working with composite materials and epoxy. Tests have shown that Abranet HCX achieves 25–33% more initial material removal than competing abrasives on the market, and a 20% reduction in deep scratches.
