Accountable to: National Sales Manager IND & Consumer Trade – Line management
Business Sector Manager CD & Wood - Activity Supervisors
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop sales within the Consumer Trade business area.
- Target new business at Key Industrial wood production sites.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities.
- Deliver activities aligned with the Business Area Plan.
- Support the introduction and growth of new products within the sector.
- Manage Key Accounts at a national and regional level.
Main Duties
- Provide monthly activity reports to the National Sales Manager and Business Area Managers.
- Develop both existing accounts and prospective new customers.
- Submit monthly updates on key projects through BPIC reporting.
- Build and maintain strong national and regional relationships through effective networking.
- Drive expansion of the Mirka product portfolio across the customer base.
- Collaborate with the Industrial sales team to ensure a consistent national approach.
- Support marketing activities, including:
- Brochure development
- Sector-specific trade shows
- Sector-specific advertising
- Present, demonstrate, and sell Mirka abrasive sanding systems.
- Attend and, where required, organise exhibitions and trade shows.
- Conduct regular visits to national account customers to maintain and develop relationships regionally.
- Participate in Mirka training programmes.
- Complete all Mirka administrative tasks, including BSC, Sales Cloud, and MirkaNet requirements.
- Maintain Sales Cloud in accordance with Mirka standards.
- Create and manage Sales Cloud opportunities valued above £5,000.
- Ensure all conduct, performance, and duties meet Mirka standards.
- Achieve sales and project targets linked to bonus schemes.
- Undertake any other reasonable task assigned by management.
- Maintain regular communication with UK Business Area Managers.

Preferred Candidate Requirements
- Strong understanding of the UK Construction & Decoration sector
- Strong Understanding of Industrial wood working enviroments
- Proven senior sales experience.
- Key Account Management (KAM) skills and experience.
- Experience working with:
- Multi-site organisations
- Senior management stakeholders
- Head-office procurement managers
- Strong administrative, IT, and systems capability.
Physical & Practical Requirements
The role requires the ability to:
- Drive 30,000–40,000 business miles per year.
- Stay away from home 2–3 nights per week on a national basis.
- Deliver presentations to senior management.
- Lift and transport heavy items in and out of company vehicles.
- Staff trade and exhibition stands over consecutive days.
- Handle and demonstrate power tools, abrasives, and polishes.
- Move around customer sites and end-user premises, including construction and industrial environments.
