Mirka UK will be focusing on tool versatility and the benefits of dust-free sanding at the National Painting & Decorating Show, spearheaded by the Mirka® DEROS Rotary Sander (RS) 600, Mirka® DEXOS mobile dust extractor, and the Mirka® LEROS sander range. The tools on display highlight Mirka’s commitment to the provision of tools that can handle a wide range of surfaces and applications, and deliver a consistent finish, and when combined with the DEXOS, achieve a dust-free work environment.

The  versatile Mirka® DEROS RS 600 blends power and precision inside a user-centric design. It is powered by a robust 750W brushless motor that ensures it can be employed to sand a wide variety of materials and applications efficiently, while minimising vibrations and noise. It also helps provide users with a dust-free workspace as it effectively contains the dust generated when in use with the help of its extraction system, which is distributed around the backing pad to ensure optimal performance beyond hole alignment, reducing health risks. In addition, the tool is equipped with bluetooth® technology, which allows the user to monitor the tool and customise its settings to ensure it performs at an optimal level, whether it is the first or thousandth time it has been put to work.

For those attendees that perform substantial wall and ceiling sanding, Mirka’s team will showcase the benefits of the Mirka® LEROS and Mirka® LEROS-S. The LEROS has a lightweight, ergonomic design that ensures perfect balance and reduces the strain on the user. Its random orbital movement responds seamlessly to the operator’s touch, while the brushless motor technology ensures a constant speed with no loss in efficiency under heavy pressure and load.  Its dual voltage feature makes the tool suitable for use on both residential and building sites.

 The Mirka® LEROS-S combines the best-in-class features of the original LEROS in a compact set-up that makes sanding in confined spaces easier.  Its two dedicated grip points enable full control of the tool, so it is easy to handle, whether it is being used on a wall or ceiling. 

To complement the sanders on display and to showcase Mirka’s extractor range,the Mirka® DEXOS 1217 M Class AFC dust extractor is powered by a 1200 watt brushless electric motor to ensure dust is quickly and efficiently removed from surfaces. 

To ensure the Mirka® DEXOS can work for long periods, it has automatic filter cleaning capabilities, which ensure consistent suction.  There is an integrated airflow sensor that provides users with real-time feedback on its performance, so users are aware of any deviations from the optimal flow rates of the tool.  Its Bluetooth-enabled remote control (sold separately) is strapped around the dust hose and senses tool vibrations to start the extractor and offers the user two operating modes: auto sense and manual.

Alongside the tools is the long-established and versatile Abranet® abrasive range, which can be used to sand multiple applications Its hard-wearing surface provides a consistent cut and prevents the disc from rapid or premature wear for a longer lifespan. In addition, when the abrasive and sander are usedwith suitable dust extraction, the combination helps provide users with a virtually dust-free work environment.
