Problem solving is a driving force for Caj Nordström
I’m responsible for the technology used in the development of Mirka’s Power Tools. This means that I am not directly involved in any single project but have a more general overview ensuring that we have the necessary technology to develop and produce our tools. I discuss the solutions for our tools and how they should be made with involved parties, and make sure that the products that we make are the best products on the market.
I enjoy doing this because I am driven by and have always been interested in technology and problem-solving; To find a solution and ensure that it works properly is really rewarding. I have been doing this at Mirka for over 15 years. In the beginning, it was more direct involvement in development projects, but since then my work has gradually shifted into what I do today, and I suspect that I will be doing this for quite some time into the future as well.
One thing I like a lot about working at Mirka is that the management is not afraid to invest time and effort in trying new things. Without that go-ahead spirit, the Power Tools division would probably not exist today in its current form. Also, the working community and our facilities are important. All this together makes the work at Mirka enjoyable and that’s very important in the long run.
Life is of course not just about work so charging the batteries during your spare time is important, and I must admit I've been a little lazy in making use of the leisure opportunities that Mirka offers. But music is something I enjoy a lot, both playing and singing
