Mirka (UK) Ltd has announced that Phil Sandford will assume the role of managing director on the 1st of January 2027 following current Managing Director Craig Daycock’s decision to retire at the end of 2026.

Phil brings more than 20 years of experience at Mirka spanning operational leadership, business development, financial control and global account management having joined the company on 2 January 2005 and progressing through several senior UK and international roles.

Craig’s retirement marks the end of an exceptional career, and we thank him for his outstanding leadership and commitment over the past four decades.”

Craigs retirement brings to a close a 40-year career with Mirka (UK) Ltd, during which he played a central role in building the business from Sales in Automotive refinish culminating as managing Director for Mirka (UK) a position held since October 2010.

Craig says, “Since 1st October 1986 I have enjoyed an incredible career with Mirka, which has seen significant growth into a world leader in surface finishing technology.  I’ve made many friends during along the way and would like to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues, customers and business partners for their support.  I wish everyone well for the future.”
